We first saw The Papered House in 2021 when it was plain old 16 Church Street, a very handsome but rather staid townhouse in beautiful Beaumaris. The new owners had a vision for something far more bold and contemporary though, and with the help of the interiors designers Mairead & Co and some amazing treadespeople, set about realising their vision. Roll on two years and The Papered House in finally ready to welcome guests. It's been some transformation...
Full Description
The bright blue front door leads through to the panelled hallway with original Victorian tiled flooring; the sage green living room off the hallway is decorated in period style but the huge L-shaped sofas and cinema TV blend in perfectly. Carry on down the hallway to the large main living area with its kitchen and dining areas bathed in natural light thanks to the glass roof lantern and french windows which lead out to the garden. The kitchen has a large island with stools for breakfast or informal meals while the banquette dining area creates a separate and more intimate space. There is a fantastic walk in pantry/utility off the kitchen as well as a downstairs WC. The garden, as you may expect, is also beautifully considered and designed with porcelain pathways zig zagging between beds of flowers and shrubs towards the gazebo dining area at the rear. There's a fire pit area for warm evenings and an outside shower for washing down after the beach. A back gate leads to a private parking space- a rarity in the charming but limited mediaeval streets of Beaumaris!
The bedrooms are arranged over two floors; two bedrooms and a large family bathroom on each floor. Each bedrooms is beautifully and elegantly designed with the epoymous wallpaper unique to each. The bathrooms, although brand new, retain more than a nod to Victorian designs but with more current features such as double basins, huge bathtubs and separate showers.
