Things to do

"After another (our third!) cracking week here at The Moorings, it is with heavy hearts that we head back to suburbia! The weather has been amazing, couldn't have asked for better. What better way for Phil to get some much needed R&R following 20 radiotherapy sessions! Cocktails at The Pilot House at Penmon, afternoon tea at The Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris, a Chinese at Fu's in Caernarfob, and fish and chips from Finney's at Benllech. Sitting on the decking we have been entertained by the ducks, duckiling, geese and goslings. Gonna really miss this place."
Judith & phil, 16th May 2025
"A very enjoyable stay, used as a base to explore the surrounding area. Red Wharf Bay's beach with the tide fully out on sunny days, was a highlight! Also was lucky enough to see a Kingfisher!"

Maxine, Ian, Ella and George the dog, 20th September 2024
"Our third visit and my 78th birthday weekend. The Moorings Club is a special place for us, hence our return. The passing of time, watching the tide come in and out is extremely therapeutic. The full moonlight is also fascinating, reflecting on the water. As the weekend got "drier" we were able to sit on the deck and take in the sights and sounds of water, wildlife and atmosphere of this unique inlet. Last night we were lucky enough to experience the "supermoon" and eclipse at 3.15am! We look forward to future visits. Regards x"
Sam & Elizabeth Tupp, 18th September 2024
"Pleased to be back for our second stay (last here in March). Unfortunately, apart form the weekend, the weather has been a mixed bag. However, the fire has kept us toasty in the evenings. Can recommend "A Taste Of India" down the road. I also had a wild seaweed bath in a whisky barrel at "Halen Mon". Can highly recommend the pure relaxation in the warm water, looking out to the strait. A very comfortable stay as last time, hence our return. Ticked all our boxes and we hope to return again next Summer. It is with heavy hearts but fond memories that we sadly have to leave this idyllic place. Thank you x."
Judith & Phil Johnson, 13th September 2024
"We've had a fab long weekend here. Thank you very much! Place was lovely with everything we needed. We were lucky with the weather so that meant we were able to spend lots of time enjoying the strait! House was a fantastic base for travelling around the island and for walking into Menai Bridge for a meal, in the evening. We would love to come back to stay again sometime. Thanks Again!"
The Tonks Family, 2nd September 2024
"What an absolute gem of a place! We have simply loved every second of exploring this beautiful island. It was amazing to watch the tide coming and going and the wildlife with it and the kids have enjoyed paddle boarding on sunnier days.It was like being home on holiday. Thank you so much for having us and helping us continue our love of the island."
Bedford/Pooles, 16th August 2024
"Had a lovely stay at The Moorings. Your cosy and well equipped place in a gorgeous location. Dylan's restaurant was lovely and the local mussels were delicious. Highly recommend Rib boat rides (Reception is adjacent to Dylan's). We went on a 40 minute high velocity ride around Menai (with some local history thrown in), but they also do longer trips that tell more about the island. Many thanks for a much needed break."
From the Trumans, 29th May 2024
"Absolutely loved this place, comfortable, warm, lovely and peaceful. Extremely well equipped kitchen. Loved the log burner too. It was exciting watching the water rise, and with that came a pair of swans. Perfect for a little get away, looking forward to visiting again."
Ian, 21st February 2024

Sage kitchen - delicious food, good for couples. Dylan's also delicious food - good for families. A beautiful and magical place. Thank you"
