Daisy Moo is a family holiday haven set in the tranquillity of the countryside. Just a two minute wander from the secluded and sandy Borthwen Beach, with its rock pools and coastal path walks.
This lovely holiday cottage is a carefully renovated Grade II listed barn where once the cows congregated. Now, hidden inside the rugged stone exterior you can find a high specification interior. Daisy Moo is great for families or couples alike.
Full Description
The large open living space has a warm oak floor, beamed and vaulted ceiling and comfy sofas. A widescreen HD television/ DVD player caters for evenings when you want to hunker down and hide from the outside world. There is a well-stocked DVD library, plenty of board games and Wi-Fi, which extends throughout the barn. An efficient and easy to use wood burning stove is great for winter evenings and creates a natural focal point. On summer days, the stable door lets in the warm air and sea views whilst keeping the room secure for toddlers and dogs.
A dining area seats six comfortably. A solid oak ship’s ladder leads up into the hayloft which has a wide oak window seat and commands a westerly view over the peaceful fields to the sea. This is a great place to escape to and has two low single beds to transform the hayloft into a unique and cosy bedroom for two - please note though it overlooks the living space.
Leading off the living space, a modern country cream kitchen contains all that you need with the bonus of views down the lane to the lighthouse. Come home to crisp contemporary bedrooms with great bedding and bathrooms with heated towel radiators and fluffy towels.
The main bedroom is uncluttered with a double bed and shuttered windows which reveal views down the country lane to the sea. It also has the luxury of an ensuite shower room. The twin room has single beds with the option of being made into a super king on request, and a large built-in wardrobe with shelving and hanging space. Across the hallway is a family bathroom clad in honeyed travertine stone with a bath to soak in after a day on the beach. The bedrooms and bathrooms have underfloor heating which is toasty underfoot and great for even the wildest days.
The bright, tiled hallway has a large storage cupboard and French windows open directly onto a sunny south facing patio where breakfasts are a delight, overlooking the lawn and countryside view. Fire up the barbeque and enjoy some local meat from the award-winning butcher in Valley. Outside Daisy Moo is a large communal lawn, shared with three other barns, which is perfect for playing.
The surrounding area is a haven for nature lovers, providing fantastic walks, coarse and sea fishing, riding and sailing opportunities. After a short mile and a half walk through a wealth of coves and stunning scenery, you come to Church Bay and the popular seafood restaurant, The Lobster Pot. The local village is less than a mile away with a shop for groceries and a great pub with wood burning stove and local food, where dogs are also welcome.
Only a few miles away is the port town of Holyhead, not just offering the convenience of supermarkets but also links to Ireland. The A55 expressway is 10 minutes away giving easy access to the mainland.
