A 300 year old Hideaway with stunning views in the heart of Anglesey
Back

Restored by a local family who farms the land nearby, they have succeeded in transforming this Bolthole into a welcoming basic holiday cottage. It retains all the charm and character they remember as children spending time there.

Full Description

Cwter Hywel sits in almost an acre of grounds, with a large lawned garden and outside dining area facing the fantastic views of the Snowdonia mountains. Along one side is a range of rustic outbuildings, one of which contains a darts room and a simple sitting area.

Inside the house, you'll find a utility area with a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink. Step from this room through to the modern kitchen/dining room and the light, airy downstairs shower room. Beyond this, there is the traditional parlour which opens up to a conservatory with magnificent views of the gardens and mountains. On wet days and colder evenings, relax in the cosy sitting room with sofas, a TV and a wood-burning stove that nestles in a stone fireplace.

Through a doorway in the three-foot thick stone walls, you'll find the double bedroom and a bunk room. There is also a crogloft bedroom with twin beds up the steep ladder steps to the roof space.

Cwter Hywel is a simple, cosy holiday cottage. A peaceful, no-frills base perfect for exploring the island and escaping from the demands of everyday life.

Things to do

"What a beautiful house in the most amazing location. 3 glorious beaches within just a few miles, walks in glorious countryside and a very comfortable and warm house. For a peaceful and relaxing break this simply cannot be beaten. Thank you for a very special holiday."
"Beautiful location, easy to get to the coast in all directions, 15 mins drive to supermarket/petrol and other amenities, perfect for our family holiday x"
"Fantastic. What a real gem to find! What an absolutely stunning location - loved sitting in the very large garden in the evening with a glass of wine looking across to Snowdon in absolute tranquility. This is a really lovely cottage both inside and out. Very clean and has everything you need for a relaxing and peaceful break. Centrally located within easy reach of main attractions and beaches. Loved the panoramic views from the back of the house and the gorgeous views from the front - watching the sheep graze in the front. Welcome basket on arrival was a really nice touch and very welcome. Highly recommend this property which we loved - we will be staying here again."
"Had a lovely week away. The house is in an idyllic setting, perfect to get away from it all and have complete peace and quiet. We loved watching the resident owl swoop over the garden at dusk. The location is fantastic and was able to get to everywhere we wanted to go in 30mins or less. Newborough and South Stack were particularly lovely. The house is really comfortable with everything we needed and the welcome hamper on arrival was much appreciated."
