An elegant barn conversion tucked away in beautiful Anglesey countryside
Back

Carrog Barn sits on the edge of the beautiful hamlet of Paradwys in South West Anglesey.

Full Description

Paradwys means 'paradise' in Welsh and this corner of the island is aptly named indeed - Carrog Barn being set in sheltered rolling countryside with ancient Carrog Woods just a stone's throw away.

The barn itself, built from the distinctive mellow stone of the local area, was converted in the last few years to a very high standard. The owners have retained many elements that combined make it such a lovely building. The beamed full height open plan kitchen/living room creates a light, airy space whilst the original splayed slit windows hark back to its rural past.

The open-plan living area is beautifully appointed with an elegant and well-equipped kitchen and dining area leading through to the spacious sitting area. Here, huge bi-fold doors enable you to bring the outside in and make perfect use of the lovely flagged terrace on sunnier days. ?On cooler days, the comfy sofas and wood-burning stove make snuggling up inside and admiring the views an equal pleasure.

Beyond the living area, you will find three perfectly appointed and spacious bedrooms - a twin, a double and a king-sized bedroom with ensuite. There is also a separate, spacious family bathroom.

Outside, you'll find plenty of parking, a lawned garden enclosed by stone walls and a stone-flagged patio with an outside table and chairs. There is plenty of parking and the barn is surrounded by lush fields and leafy copses. You may also be lucky enough to spot a red squirrel or two which abound in the neighbouring woodland- the photo above was taken from the guests by guests!

The perfect holiday bolthole? We think so!

Things to do

"We absolutely loved our stay! We were 2 families with 2 toddlers, there was more than enough space for all of us and the privacy of the surrounding fields was a big bonus to let the kids run around freely. Katy and Dyfrig were very responsive, welcoming hosts and made our stay very pleasant. The location was perfect for us to get to the areas we wanted to visit. We would definitely visit again!"

"A big thank you to Katy for the warm welcome on our arrival – it really set the tone for a lovely stay. The welcome gifts were a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. The accommodation was comfortable and spacious, with plenty of room for three adults and two children. We loved the wide selection of books, indoor games, and outdoor activities available at the property – there was always something to do. Katy also kindly suggested a little stroll at the back of the garden where we could build dens. each morning we woke up to the sheep and lambs in the back field which was lovely. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. Bathrooms clean with great showers. Beds so comfy and linen fresh. All rooms were so spacious and each room had its own temperature control, nice touch. A perfect base for a trip away with friends."
