“This was our first visit to Anglesey and the directions you provided were accurate and we found the cottage with no difficulty. Parking is limited on Rating Row, but we found a nearby space to unload the car. Over the week we had little difficulty parking generally. The ground floor is open plan, light and airy and very well appointed. We were particularly impressed with the kitchen as cooking is a hobby of ours. Whilst there was only two in our party, there was ample comfortable seating for up to five people. The small enclosed rear yard area was attractively planted and even in late September was a lovely warm sun trap.
There is no ground floor WC and being an old/listed building the original stair is steep, narrow and winding. The area is, however, well lit and the handrails carefully placed. It would probably be difficult for young children or people with limited mobility. Thoughtfully, a child gate is provided on the landing. On the first floor, both double rooms and the single are good sized and well furnished. The main/front bedroom is particularly attractive. The shower/WC is well fitted out with ample space and copious hot water. The heating system worked well and the gas log fire makes for a cosy atmosphere. We really appreciated the many thoughtful and high-quality features, especially the artwork.
There are few distant views from the cottage, being close to the town centre, but this meant that access to the many good quality shops in Beaumaris was easy. There are nearby walks and beaches and several good quality restaurants close by. In summary, we found the property exceptional and would be highly likely to book it again in the future.”

“We recently stayed at Melvin Cottage and thought it was excellent, it was very warm, beautifully presented and extremely clean. It had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay in this lovely part of Wales. Beaumaris is a perfect base for exploring the area from. The fresh flowers were a lovely touch and the back garden was very pretty, it’s small but absolutely perfect for us. We have a small dog and it was nice knowing it was a totally safe space…We will definitely book again next year.”

“Previous visitors seem to have said it all. This is a beautiful cottage, very cosy, well equipped and a wonderful bolthole to return to after a day out. The owners have thought of everything and the breakfast basket was extremely generous. I spent my birthday and our wedding anniversary here and couldn’t think of a better place. It is filled with love. Glorious weather. Beaumaris is lovely.”

“We have really loved our holiday staying in your cottage. We have left buckets and spades etc plus crabbing stuff in the back – hopefully a future guest can use!  Your cottage is beautiful and we have really enjoyed our stay – especially loved the little touches – fresh flowers and welcome basket etc. I will certainly be recommending to friends! We hope to be back at some point.”

“This is our second holiday in Beaumaris but our first in Melvin Cottage – perfect base for exploring Anglesey. Cottage was perfect and loved the welcome basket! We hope to be back.”

“Stunning cottage – very stylish and such a generous welcome pack! Very well equipped. We’ve been very lucky with the weather, lovely coastal walks around Moelfre, Red Wharf Bay etc. Beaumaris is a great base.”

“WOW!! This house is absolutely lovely. The attention to detail has not gone missed, thank you. We will most certainly return. Beaumaris and house has exceeded our expectations, we had a wonderful time.”

“Beaumaris  is a wonderful place to stay and we have loved our time here. Melvin Cottage is one of the nicest dog friendly cottages we have stayed in. Thank you to Debbie and Murray for all the personal touches. We will return soon.”

“Had a great stay here in Melvin. Such a beautiful cottage, everything you need is here for a relaxing week. Will definitely be back!”

“What a wonderful cottage. Beautifully decorated, very well equipped and comfy beds. I just wish my own home was like this! Thank you for a lovely few days.”

“Booked last minute for the Bank Holiday weekend and loved every minute of being here.  A great cottage with everything you can think of. Our boys have loved crabbing from the pier every day!”

“We’ve had a lovely week. The cottage was very comfortable, very cosy and well equipped. We’ve had a real mix of weather but it has been a great base to explore the island. Thank you!”

“Melvin Cottage is a gem! A lovely Grade II listed cottage with lots of lovely period features but modern facilities – kitchen, bathroom, fast broadand, Smart TV, Alexa etc. that suited us down to the ground.  It is right in the heart of lovely Beaumaris, very close to shops, pubs, restaurants, the castle and the sea front. We loved exploring Beaumaris and the surrounding area and then snuggling up for the evening in the cottage by the fire. We enjoyed several of the pubs and restaurants but also took advantage of the well equipped kitchen. Highly recommended, we will be back.”

“What a wonderful time we had at Melvin Cottage over New Year . The decor and attention to detail was billiant. Upstairs the bedrooms had storage in all the right places, comfortable beds and bedding, a contemporary shower bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped, but with a great choice of eateries all a few strides away, it was a litttle under used. There is also a very good butchers and bakery and a small Spar also within walking distance (so I could have cooked a bit more!). We spent the days out exploring Beaumaris and walking on local beaches, coming back to a warm and welcoming cottage. The “Alexa” was also very useful for all sorts of information and music entertainment. we prised ourselves away from comfy chairs and cosy fire at midnight on New Year’s Eve to watch the fireworks at Beaumaris Castle, a fitting finale to a great stay.”
