A stunning Bolthole for eight overlooking Rhoscolyn bay with a two-acre garden that reaches right to the beach
Cae Llyn is a simply beautiful holiday house in an absolutely stunning setting, looking out over Rhoscolyn Bay. It sleeps up to eight guests in four bedrooms (two double, two twins) and welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs. Overlooking the beach, you will love the wonderful coastal views and open skies that Cae Llyn commands.
This lovely period holiday house maintains much of its original 1930s charm and detail. It has been carefully modernised into a comfortable and well equipped holiday house, cosy and welcoming, bursting with colour and character. Cae Llyn has been in the same ownership for three generations and is much loved.
Cae Llyn overlooks the quiet and picturesque Borthwen beach at Rhoscolyn on the west coast of Anglesey. This is a truly rural setting – there has been very little development around the bay due to the large area of reed beds that backs onto this lovely sandy beach. The views out over to Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula are gorgeous. The house is just a 15-minute stroll from The White Eagle, which serves delicious locally sourced food – you could have dinner or lunch there every day during your stay!
This white and blue holiday house nestles into a two-acre garden which runs down to a safe and secluded sandy cove with its own private access. An idyllic bolthole for children and adults alike, there is lots of space to spread out and explore. Buckets and spades will be at the ready to accompany beach activities such as shrimping, exploring, swimming, sailing and fishing. And with the house so close to the beach, it is easy to head back for meals or to collect a forgotten item.
The expansive garden is home to nooks and crannies and hiding places along with mown grassy areas. Perfect for games of hide and seek, football, cricket or simply for a spot of sunbathing. There’s even a little white bridge which arches over a small gurgling stream.
Cae Llyn sits by the Anglesey coastal path which runs right around the island – ideal for walkers. Why not explore right from your front door? The coastal walks here are spectacular.
An all-year-round holiday house, Cae Llyn is a also super destination for a winter getaway. The house is cosy and warm with two open fires and oil central heating. You can snuggle down by the fire with a good book, or relax and take in the fabulous views of the mountains and the sea crashing into the bay.
You can arrive at Cae Llyn stacked with provisions and not hop back in the car again all week. Explorers can get to all four corners of Anglesey within forty minutes. Trearddur Bay is close by and Beaumaris about half an hour away with its medieval castle, pier, cafes and restaurants and independent shops. The National Trust’s Plas Newydd is a lovely place to while away an afternoon, with beautiful views out of the Menai Strait into Snowdonia. And children will love trips to Pili Palas, The Sea Zoo and Foel Farm. Paddleboarding and surfing lessons can be arranged through Gecko at Rhoscolyn and kayaking or coasteering sessions are available locally with B-Active or Anglesey Outdoors.
