Anchor Cottage sits on the colourful high street of the small seaside village of Cemaes Bay on the north coast of Anglesey, just a short stroll from sandy beaches and the harbour.

This welcoming dog-friendly holiday cottage is simple and sparkling clean. It makes a great base for a traditional seaside holiday or for touring this lovely part of the island.

Downstairs is almost all open plan with a cosy sitting area, a dining area and a well-equipped kitchen. There is a downstairs WC and to the rear of the cottage, you'll find a sheltered decked patio with a gas BBQ for al fresco dining. Upstairs you will find a modern family bathroom and three lovely bedrooms - two doubles and one twin.

From this central location, everything is with a few minutes walk. There are two well-known sandy beaches, a beautiful harbour where you can take boat trips out into the bay, a few independent shops and a gallery and three pubs. A slightly longer walk along the beach will bring you to the Gadlys Hotel, from where you can enjoy lovely views back over Cemaes and fantastic food. The coastal path hereabouts is dramatic; a two-mile walk from Cemaes will take you past towering cliffs, an abandoned 19th-century brickworks and Llanbadrig church. Reputedly the oldest church in Wales, it was founded in gratitude by St Patrick who survived his ship being wrecked on nearby Ynys Badrig.

There is no dedicated parking with Anchor Cottage but there is a large free public car park 100 yards away. Drop the car off, arrive, unpack, unwind and enjoy the delights of a traditional seaside holiday!

Stayed at Anchor Cottage with my mother and little dog at the end of June, and I have got to say that after over a decade of self-catering in houses throughout the UK, this lovely property is probably one of our best yet! Fantastic location, a 5-10min stroll to the harbour, excellent little patio space for our pooch with outdoor furniture, and fantastically clean & well-equipped rooms. I can't say enough about the place other than it has made me fall in love with Anglesey.

What an amazing week we’ve had at Anchor Cottage - a real home away from home, with everything you could possibly need for a cosy and comfortable stay. You really couldn’t ask for a better location to explore Ceames Bay. The place is a real hidden gem and a great base to explore the rest of Anglesey. The surrounding beaches are beautiful and unspoilt, with the local community so friendly and welcoming. Make sure to stop at The Bell for delicious scones and cakes, enjoy an ice cream at the beach cafe, and head up to the Gadlys Hotel for a lovely evening meal - plus, all dog friendly. We would highly recommend Anchor Cottage - can’t wait to return in the future!

Anchor Cottage provides the perfect landing spot for the whole family while you switch off and unwind in beautiful Cemaes Bay. Brilliantly equipped with everything you might need for babies, teenagers and everything in between. It’s perfectly located to spend your days exploring the beaches and the best place to return to after walking along the coastline. We’re booked for our 4th year and we can’t wait to get back to all our favourite places!
