1 St Mary’s Cottages

Dog-friendly holiday cottage for four in central Beaumaris

Nestled in the heart of Beaumaris sits 1 St Mary’s Cottages. This lovely holiday cottage commands exquisite views of the fourteenth century Grade I listed church of St Mary and St Nicholas.

Recently refurbished, this dog-friendly cottage is flooded with light bringing a smile to all who visit. Cottage garden flowers nod their welcome as you ascend the steps to this cheery sky blue cottage. Open the front door and feel at ease, with an open plan sitting and dining area there is room to relax. Dog-friendly floors and an enclosed courtyard allows for open doors and fresh air through. Listen to the church bells for wedding, practise or Sunday service – a huge smile of contentment you will wear as there is something quite magical when they ring.

Off the dining area sits a new kitchen with all that will be needed to create a sumptuous feast. For some, eating out is the real treat, and disappointed you will not be for, within a street or two of 1 St Mary’s Cottages are restaurants, pubs and bistros await hungry guests. No need to worry about who is driving here as a stroll along the seafront is all that is needed.

Sleepyheads can meander upstairs to bed where a gorgeous twin bedroom sits quietly, with stylish wallpaper that is a joy to see. A king it can become should that be your wish.  Next door the master bedroom commands a king-sized rest with windows glancing upon the ancient gaol and old school buildings still standing proud.

A family bathroom completes upstairs, with a bath awaiting bubbles or a shower to refresh. With constant hot water at your command, all will be happy.

Beaumaris offers everything you will need to enjoy your holiday. Historic buildings and a castle too, crabbing off the pier, paddle in the paddling pool, spin on the roundabout or push off on castle swings. Or, sit quietly, watching the yachts race by as you allow your worries to ease away. The RNLI are stationed here and provide a heart to this seaside town – open doors to inquisitive minds and friendly supporters of an amazing charity. Further along the coast sits Penmon Lighthouse – a wonderful area to explore full of history and tales galore. If long expanses of sand are a must for kite flyers or walkers of dogs then Llanddona Beach is a short drive away.

Beaumaris is a wonderful base to explore Anglesey from or an easy hop away from Snowdonia where mountain walkers will be in heaven.

What a wonderful week we have had on Anglesey. Beaumaris is the perfect place to stay. 1 st Mary’s Cottages has been the perfect home to come back to at the end of the day. A real find. Definitely be back and recommend to family and friends.(6 – 13 September 2019)

What a find! We have loved staying in this cottage – really comfortable and some lovely decorative touches. It’s position so close to Beaumaris centre is ideal and we have never found parking to be a problem. We’ve enjoyed food at The Midland, Dylan’s (Menai Bridge) and fish & chips at Neptune’s. We had a takeaway from Meghna which was also great. Although we are regulars on Anglesey we finally discovered Newborough Beach and Church Bay. We hope to be back soon! We will recommend to friends too.

Lovely cottage and great location. Fell in love with Beaumaris and Red Wharf Bay! The bakery is fabulous – we had fresh pastries every morning. Thank you for the use of your lovely home.

We both had a lovely stay in Beaumaris, our visit was our first but hopefully not our last. Packed quite a blot into the week, there is so much to do and had the added benefit of some lovely weather. Visited some lovely beaches and experienced the thrill of driving to Llanddona Beach! Not for the feint hearted. 1 St Mary’s Cottages was a lovely place to return to each evening. All the home comforts and more. Dined well at the Boathouse, The Bull and Tredici. Thank you.

Thank you for a comfortable stay. We really appreciated you organising the bed sheets as we were so warm at night. Our daughter has loved being so close to the beach and for future guests do try Red Boat Icecream!
