Hideaway

A stunning hideaway a flip flop from Tyn Towyn Beach.

This is an inspirational spot for walking, kayaking and surfing. A privileged little path leads you from the cottage garden through the dunes to the beach of Tyn Towyn. In four glorious minutes you are on the beach.

First, park the car and walk straight in to a light-filled open-plan sitting room with patio doors that swing open to let the sound of the sea creep in. At one end is a newly-installed sage green kitchen with all you need to cook up a storm. Then is a dining space with a round table sitting quietly in the corner. A fire and a cosy sofa and chair at the other end all make for a great sociable space. On a sunny day, step out and dine at the picnic bench on smoked fish from the BBQ. The double bedroom has excellent storage space and a delicious bed to sleep off the salty swims. The twin is simple and bright. The bathroom gleams and welcomes after a long day on the beach.

From the kitchen you can glimpse in the distance a proud, ancient Neolithic burial chamber right on the edge of the coast. The Wayside shop just half a mile away has the key to access Barclodiad y Gawres and see the cruciform passage grave. Further beyond along from Hideaway along sand and pebbles is Cable Bay. This bit of coast is craggy and gorgeous (surfers love it). The coastal walks just unravel for miles and when the wind whips the spray off the rollers at sunset, it is memorable; as is your peaceful spot at Hideaway.

Great pubs and restaurants too are local with The Oyster Catcher around the corner and Rhosneigr a quick hop down the road with shops, galleries and cafes to while away some much needed relaxation time.

“Good location off the dunes.  More mixed weather and bracing winds but enjoyed the sea and sand.  Great base for walks.” (Morris family, September 2017)

“Fantastic cottage, beautiful location. Loved teh walk down the path to the beach.  The Oyster Catcher is great for food. Had to sit on the decking as we had the dog but there are lovely beach huts to sit in and eat which are heated.  Had a lovely few days in a great cottage.” (September 2017)

“Fantastic week’s break for us and our dog Hannah.  Lovely weather save for one rainy day.  At least one walk to beach each day is perfect – walking up to burial mound and round to the other bay too.  Excellent walk through Newborough Forest down to Newborough Beach.  Enjoyed walk to Oyster Catcher through dunes. Food average but views and location and welcome to dogs makes it really worthwhile and convenient!” (Gaynor, Nige, Georgia and Hannah, August 2017)

“Delightful cottage, great visit and lots to do including round of golf at Bull Bay. Fantastic course.  The Boat House at Red Wharf Bay fantastic food. Will definitely come back.” (Gina and Mike, July 2017)

“Great little cottage, well maintained and fab location and so peaceful (apart from when motor racing is taking place at weekend). Weather was so good. Tye the dog says he’s looking forward to coming back, we seconded that.” (Paul and Catherine, June 2017)

“Amazing peaceful location. Great bar at The Oyster Catcher – real and craft ales and decent wine selection. Ate there twice – excellent first time not so good second.  Hit and miss.  Loved the log burner and newness of everything. Had the beach to ourselves most of the time. Cheers.” (The Angleseas – not Lord and Lady! – June 2017)

“Absolutely fabulous spot. Nice cottage and a true hideaway. Had a brilliant time!” (June 2017)

“An amazing week, relaxing at this gorgeous little hideaway. The weather has been very mixed but it has not stopped us enjoying the fabulous beach location every day.  The facilities have been wonderful. Attention to detail and comfort are great. We enjoyed a cosy night in by the fire. We had fish and chipsfrom Scarlets, they were gorgeous. The White Eagle, Oyster Catcher and Black Seal were all very lovely, dog friendly and great food.  All in all a wonderful week! (Dottie and Hector, June 2017)
