A white washed, traditional Welsh cottage, near Aberffraw, perched on the edge of the sand dunes right by the beach.
Salty toes are a must if you stay at Bodwarren. Located right by sandy dunes, the beaches are all tantalisingly close. Porth Tyn Towyn is a four minute stroll away along a secret path. This is a beach retreat for laid-back guests tucked between the road to Aberffraw and the sea (if you’re looking for mod cons and manicured perfection you won’t find it here). The semi-detached cottage is a compact and comfortable, but simple nook – brilliantly placed for beachcombing, walking and dogs.
It is set back from a busy road but you are soon away from it all as you walk down the path to the beach. Penlon is next door (semi-detached) and can be booked to combine family stays and garden suppers together.
Step into a sitting room with a plump sofa positioned in front of a wood-burner generously supplied with logs. There’s a simple kitchen with views over the fields to gaze out whilst cooking. If you’d rather head out for dinner, the much-loved The Oyster Catcher is only a two-minute drive around the corner. Or in fine weather enjoy a glass of wine (or two!) in the sunny garden at the back.
A small and simple double room has a brass bedstead and an elegant charm. The twin room houses bunk beds and is compact. The basic bathroom has a bath for a long soak and shower over.
Rhosneigr is not far with the award winning Broad Beach (Traeth Llydan). There is sailing, surfing, sea fishing and windsurfing, and for those who want to try something different, kite surfing lessons are available in the village there. Here too you will find cafes, restaurants, an art gallery, pubs and quirky shops

“A lovely relaxing few days. Loved being able to walk along the beach to the Oyster Catcher for tea, but equally loved the take away pizza eaten on the beach from Rhosneigr. South Stack highly recommended for a visit and Beaumaris. Anglesey, beautiful in all weathers, but especially when the sun comes out! Great location and toasty warm and comfy cottage. Perfect!
“We have had a fabulous week here in Bodwarren. Cosy, comfortable and clean. Brilliantly situated for all our favourite places. Such a treat to be able to walk just over the dunes to a beautiful beach. Other stunning beaches were Cable Bay, Aberffraw, Newborough, Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay. Thanks to all at Boltholes and Hideaways for another successful trip and great customer service.”
