Our Latest Covid-19 Update
You are welcome to make a holiday booking online for dates after 3 July. If the official government lockdown is extended to cover the dates of your stay, then you will be able to transfer your booking or receive a refund as outlined below.
Just as a background, the 26th September remains the long date set out by the Welsh Government. As this date applies to the rest of the UK too, this is reviewed every 21 days by the Prime Minister and it is possible that the September date could come forward. The Welsh Government will decide to do what is best for Wales and this may differ from the rest of the UK.
We are proactively extending our support to help guests booked with us. We understand that this is really stressful, especially for any guest who would normally be due to pay their balance soon.
For guests that are due to take their holiday after 14 June and up to 31 July, to help ease any concern, we are working to allow them the chance to wait and see how matters develop before making a decision about whether to go ahead or to cancel their booking. To try to help, we are supporting guests by relaxing the balance payment dates. Each guest can liaise with us directly and discuss each case. We are here for you for any amendment requests and will work hard to find the best resolution possible for the individual circumstances. Please note the following:
- If a guest opts to move a booking, we will not impose any charges for our administration service.
- The moved booking has to be at the same house. This is so that we’re fair to our owners who need to plan income and investment.
- For balance payments, we will not be asking for these to be paid on the date as stated on your booking. We will keep an eye on developments and assess whether the holiday may proceed first and relax the payment date to approximately 21 days before arrival. Please contact us for further advice.
- If your new moved holiday costs more for a different date period, you can make up the difference or, for lower cost breaks, we will refund in cash or issue a gift voucher to be used at the same house up to 31 December 2021.
- If a guest wishes to cancel their transferred booking after 31 July 2020, then our standard booking conditions of hire apply. Please note that if you transfer your new future booking, most insurance companies will not allow any future claims relating to Covid-19. If you are ill with Covid-19 and cannot make the holiday, please let us know and we will support you where possible.
- If we are still in lockdown and cannot offer the house services to you for the dates your holiday is due to be taken, all the above apply but we can offer a full refund if a guest does not wish to move their booking. We do ask that if possible, you try to move the booking as it supports the owners during a difficult time.
- We ask that any changes for housekeeping purposes are made in good time, and no later than 14 days before arrival.
Flexible Offer for Bookings taken after 11 May
For new bookings (not existing moved bookings) that are made now and after 11 May, there is the potential risk that guests may not be able to travel and/or that we may be shut due to Welsh Government advice.
If you make a new holiday booking after 11 May 2020, to commence on any date up to 31 July 2020, we will allow you to change your dates to later on, penalty-free if there is Welsh government advice against travel, so you will not lose your deposit. If we are closed by the Welsh government, then we will be able to offer you a full refund, but would rather, where possible, that guests move the booking and associated payment as it helps the owners.
To try to help, we are supporting guests by relaxing the balance payment dates for new bookings. We will relax the balance payment date to be 21 days prior to the holiday start date. We would not ask for full payment until we are clear that the holiday can proceed. Each guest can liaise with us directly and discuss each case.
The flexible offer is to support guests where the Welsh Government stops travel or us from trading only. It does not include new bookings taken where guests are ill or decide they want to change their dates. Please note that this flexible offer alters our standard booking conditions of hire for the period to 31 July 2020. If you book dates after the 31 July and you need to cancel due to Covid-19, the booking fee (which covers the costs of actually making the booking) is not refundable.
This way we can all plan and offer the holidays safely but later on for guests. Please let’s all get through this together as we really would love to welcome you back – the beaches will all still be here later on.

Boltholes and Hideaways
We offer Anglesey holiday cottages based on the island of Anglesey and unique holiday cottages in Snowdonia, North Wales. Every bolthole or hideaway has been chosen for its own unique quality. Switch off from the demands of everyday life and concentrate on time together.
Explore and relax!
With its magical scenery, Anglesey has endless coastal paths, sandy beaches and clear dark skies to enjoy. New to Boltholes and Hideaways are a few carefully selected properties in Snowdonia. This beautiful area of North Wales offers so much more than “just” incredible mountain walks and scenery. There are lakes and rivers, wooded valleys and an adrenaline rush at every turn. Visit Zip World or Bounce Below, hire a paddleboard or kayak – explore! It is time to relax however you wish to – quiet walks along beaches or day-long hikes to challenge your senses.
We have a treasure trove of unique places just waiting to help you explore and plenty to do from climbing, fishing, cycling, walking, kayaking, golfing, eating, star gazing and even car racing on the Anglesey Circuit. No wonder so many legends start in North Wales! With the Snowdonia mountain range right on the doorstep or a moment away from Anglesey, however you would like to explore, we have the perfect cottage for you.
Fancy a large Anglesey holiday house for magical celebrations, two properties side by side in the heart of Snowdonia? A small but perfectly formed self-catering cottage for two a short stroll from the beach? Perhaps you’d like to explore Snowdonia with a converted dog-friendly chapel as your base and Llyn Padarn a dog’s paw away. Or from a recently refurbished dog-friendly manor house with views across the greenest of countrysides to the mountains beyond.
Holiday houses to suit all tastes
Boltholes and Hideaways have rural retreats, mountain friendly finds or coastal holiday cottages with open log fires and log burning stoves, underfloor heating, hot tubs, whirlpool baths, roll-top baths and of course sea, lake, mountain and country views. Whether you’re looking for a week hiding away in a beach house perched right on the shore, a romantic cottage in the private woods of a country estate with a bit of fishing, a central retreat for day-long mountain pursuits with lakes on its doorstep – or simply wish to hunker down in an Anglesey cottage with a hot tub, we have the place for you. We are pet-friendly in most holiday cottages as the mountains of Snowdonia and Anglesey beaches are dog heaven. It would not be a holiday without the pooch!
Our unique boltholes and hideaways all share the same high standard of expectation and, as we personally select places that we love, we know there is a perfect match for everyone.
